CAREERS
The purpose of the Careers Core Area is to understand the relationship between school and work and the necessity for extended occupational training after high school. It is intended to expose students to broad aspects of a particular industry or career cluster area.
The Career Exploration Internship course is unpaid work experience in the public or private sector that provides for workplace learning in an area of student career interest. The career exploration internship course is intended to expose students to broad aspects of a particular industry or career cluster area. In addition to the workplace learning activities, students participate in regularly scheduled meetings with their classroom teacher for the purpose of helping the student make the connection between academic learning and their work-related experiences.

The collaboration of school, business and industry, parents and students all work together to help students choose a career.
The objectives of the Careers Core Area are to have students:
- identify a career path
- enroll in a work place readiness curriculum
- partake in an internship experience related to their career path and to
- enroll in a higher education institution for career training.
