Kory LaBonne!
My wife, Malory, and I currently reside in Granger, IN near Notre Dame University with our two daughters: Hadley turned four in November and Rowen will be two in July. Malory stays home with our girls and enjoys photography, blogging, and teaching dance once a week at a local studio. Our days consist of treasure hunts, Barbie dolls, and lots of dance parties; we wouldn’t have it any other way. I completed my undergrad at Indiana University in Secondary English Education and then taught middle school English/Language Arts for three years (6th grade with New Prairie United School Corp. for one and 7th & 8th grade with School City of Mishawaka for two). I am currently in my final class for my MBA and Preschool-12th grade Building-Level Administrator’s (Principal) License through Indiana Wesleyan University.
Over my tenure with the Crossing, I have served in several different roles including a Teacher of Record at our South Bend Campus and the Director of School Services for the corporation. Though I miss being in the classroom from time to time, my favorite part about working at the Crossing is the opportunity to serve alongside an incredibly selfless, dedicated, and talented group of people who work tirelessly for the good of building the Kingdom.
I have been privileged to experience a diverse range of leadership opportunities. My purpose and passion for being at the Crossing derive from those experiences and the desire to lead and serve others exceptionally well.
Honestly, I am not sure I can definitively identify one or two isolated experiences that have had a significant impact on my life. Being married and raising our two young girls has probably had the biggest impact on my life. Each stage has led to self-discovery, the need to learn new skills or try new things, and an ongoing pursuit of learning from the “little nuggets” of wisdom or daily lessons along the way. It has certainly not always been easy, but it has definitely been worth it!
